Gastón Reggio is a Uruguayan musician, educator, and composer with a diverse musical background, who has studied with renowned drummers Osvaldo Fattoruso and Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla among many others in Uruguay and Argentina.
In 2012, he expanded his musical horizons by moving to Brazil, where he earned a degree in Brazilian Music and Jazz from the Conservatory of Tatuí in São Paulo. After six enriching years in Brazil, Gastón returned to Uruguay, leaving his mark by recording the debut album of the Uruguayan band Bolsa de Naylon en la Rama de un Árbol. In 2019, he embarked on a new chapter by relocating to the United States, initially residing in Michigan before finding his permanent home in the Raleigh-Durham area in 2021. Since then, he has actively contributed to the local music scene, collaborating with groups like Também, Caique Vidal & Batuque, and The Rebecca Kleinmann Quintet.
Gastón boasts a rich musical journey spanning more than fifteen years as a dedicated music educator, offering insightful workshops on Uruguayan and Brazilian rhythms. His extensive performance repertoire includes appearances at numerous festivals, theaters, schools, and venues across Uruguay, Brazil, and the United States. Gastón has lent his talents to over twenty albums, leaving an indelible mark on each project.
Not only a seasoned collaborator, Gastón has also showcased his creative prowess by releasing two albums of his original compositions: "Do Interiô" in 2019 and "Michigan", set to be released in March 2024.

Gastón Reggio es un músico, educador y compositor uruguayo. Oriundo de Canelón Chico, una zona rural en el departamento de Canelones. Ha estudiado con reconocidos bateristas como Osvaldo Fattoruso y Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla entre muchos otros en Uruguay y Argentina. En 2012, dio un paso importante en su carrera al mudarse a Brasil, donde obtuvo su diploma en "Música Brasileira & Jazz" en el Conservatorio de Tatuí, São Paulo. Después de seis años, regresó a Uruguay, donde dejó su marca al grabar el primer álbum de la banda uruguaya Bolsa de Naylon en la Rama de un Árbol de nombre homónimo.
En 2019, Gastón se trasladó a los Estados Unidos, inicialmente viviendo en Michigan y posteriormente estableciéndose en el área de Raleigh-Durham en Carolina del Norte. Rápidamente se integró en la escena local, participando en diversas agrupaciones como Também, Caique Vidal & Batuque, Rebecca Kleinmann Quintet, entre otros.
Con una carrera de más de 15 años como educador musical, Gastón ha impartido talleres de Ritmos Brasileños y se ha presentado en festivales, teatros, escuelas y escenarios en Uruguay, Brasil y Estados Unidos. Además, ha contribuido a más de 20 discos como músico sesionista. Destacando su faceta como compositor, Gastón ha lanzado dos álbumes con su música original: "Do Interiô" en 2019 y "Michigan", que será lanzado el 15 de marzo de 2024.
